What is Slideshow.com?

Slideshow.com is a safe secure online platform where Members can share and publish PowerPoint Presentations and Photo Galleries. Members can create a community where they can invite friends, family and colleagues to view and comment on their Presentations and Galleries. It's a perfect way to learn from others or just share your ideas.

Is there a cost to join Slideshow?

The basic version of Slideshow is and always will be free. In coming months, however, a paid version with advanced options will be added. This will include the ability to download larger images and presentations and store larger volumes of information. You will be notified when this is available.

How do I learn how it works?

To learn how Slideshow.com works click on the Take a Tour link on the Home page.

How do I flag inappropriate content?

Slideshow.com does not permit adult or inappropriate content. Those who breach this rule will have their accounts removed as per the Terms of Use. Members that are logged in can select to flag a document as inappropriate, which will block access to the document by other members. Or you can use the feedback form and write to us directly.

What do I do if my Presentation was removed/flagged as inappropriate?

Contact Slideshow.com using the support form and as long as the content of your Presentation is not offensive, we will work on reposting it.

Will the content on my Presentations show up in search engine queries?

Yes, Slideshow.com content will show up in search engines including title, description, tags and so on. These will all be indexed in search results.

My Account

How do I create an account?

To create a user account:

• Click on Join Now on the Home page
• Select you OpenID provider
• Choose your Slideshow.com Username and Submit
• Click on the Upload tab or Upload button to start

Why do I need to create an account?

You need to create an account to be able to upload Presentations and Photo Galleries as well as leave comments on what has already been uploaded by others.

How do I update my profile?

To update your profile:

• Log in to your Slideshow.com
• Click on your username at the top of the page
• Select the Edit link on your profile page next to your username
• Click Save when you have updated your profile

How do I unsubscribe from Slideshow.com?

To unsubscribe from Slideshow.com, complete the form on http://www.slideshow.com/contact, let them know that you wish to be removed from the database and they will unsubscribe you.

What do I do if I have forgotten my Password?

Since your account is tied to your OpenID you would need to use the forgot password feature of your OpenID provider such as Google or Yahoo.

What do I do if I have forgotten my Username?

Since your account is tied to your OpenID you would need to use the forgot username feature of your OpenID provider such as Google or Yahoo.

How do I change my Password?

How do I change my Email Address?

To change your Email Address:

• Log in to Slideshow.com
• Click on your username at the top of the page
• Select the edit link next to you username on the profile page
• Click Save when you have changed your email address

Presentations

What file formats does Slideshow.com support for Presentations?

Slideshow.com supports Microsoft Office 2007 PowerPoint formats including PPS.

What is the largest Presentation file size I can upload?

Maximum allowed file size is 10MB per Presentation. To upload a Presentation larger than 10MB, you will have to wait for the Premium paid version which is coming soon.

Can I download someone’s Presentation?

Yes, members that have posted Presentations can choose to allow visitors to download their Presentation. The permission to download is up to the publisher of the file. If permission has been granted, a member will see a Download link on the Presentation.

How long does it take for a Presentation to appear on Slideshow.com?

While under some circumstances it may take as long as 30 minutes for a Presentation to appear, the vast majority of uploads will take under 5 minutes.

How do I comment on a particular Presentation?

In order to comment you must first be a registered user on Slideshow.com. You will then need to be logged in. After that simply view the Presentation of your choice and add your comment at the lower portion of the page.

Do I need permission to embed the Presentation code on a website?

You don’t need any permission to do this.

My Presentation contains video and audio. Will that be on Slideshow?

Currently, we do not support videos or audio inside presentations.

How do I upload a Presentation?

To upload a Presentation, you must first be logged in. Then either click on the Upload tab in the navigation or the Upload button on the page. Then follow the steps to upload:

• Click on the Browse button to select your presentation file
• Edit the Title, Description, and Category fields
• Add Tags if you like as it will make it easier for youserse to find you Slideshow
• Select Upload
• Afterwards you can see some status information on your profile page. When the file is processed it will appear in your list of Slideshows

How can I upload Presentations to Slideshow.com if I have a Mac?

If you use PowerPoint in your Mac, then save in the default ppt format and upload.

How many slides can I have in one Presentation?

There are no restrictions on how many images that can exist within a Presentation as long as the maximum does not exceed 10MB.

How do I name my Presentation?

When uploading a Presentation, complete the following fields and select Save:

• Presentation Title
• Presentation Description

How do I edit my Presentation?

When logged in, you may click on My Presentations, select a specific presentation and then click Edit Details. You will then be able to do the following:

• Presentation Title
• Presentation Description
• Presentation Category
• Presentation Tags

How do I page through a Presentation

To page through a Presentation simply click on the side arrows in (< and >) within the Presentation. Also click on the right side of the slideshow will advance it to next slide, while clicking on the left will move back to the previous slide.

How do I share my Presentations?

Slideshow.com provides you with several different ways to share your Presentation. When viewing a Presentation, on the right of the page there are a series of different options to publish, link, post and share files.

What can I do with a Presentation that I like?

When you find a Presentation you like, you can:

• Copy the URL link of the Presentation to share it with friends
• Download the Presentation by clicking on Download if the owner has enable this

Can I get the URL for a particular Presentation?

On the individual presentation, a url link is shown on the right. Copy and paste this and share the Presentation with friends.

How do post my Presentation on MySpace, Facebook or other website?

This process varies from one social network site to another. Simply said, copy the code from the Presentation and embed into the social network site. To copy the code, click the iPaper dropdown when in a Presentation and copy the embed code into the webpage.

Can I use Slideshow.com for a conference? Is special permission needed?

We allow you to share any presentation files you wish. The best way to do it is to pick a tag for your conference (for instance BizConf08). All the speakers at the conference can also upload their presentations to Slideshow.com, and to tag it with the conference tag. This promotes your conference as well as shares some knowledge with the outside world.

How do I delete a Presentation?

Log into your account, go to My Presentations and then click on Delete next to the individual Presentation.

Troubleshoot

Why am I not able to log in?

You will need to have an active account with an OpenID provider such as Google, Yahoo, AOL etc... Our sign in page identifies some of the most common providers for you.

Why is my file upload taking so long?

Sometimes a file will take a while to upload. This is often dependent on how fast your internet connection is, how big your file is, and how busy our servers are. Sometimes you will have to be a little patient.

My presentation had slide transitions and/or animations and I can’t find them after uploading.

Unfortunately, we do not currently support slide animations and would likely be lost on upload. These will however remain in downloable version of the presentation.

I uploaded my file but it looks different. Some images now have red boxes instead. What can I do?

This is likely due to incompatibility issues with the file you just uploaded. Please contact support and we will try and help.
